These are good rates for the flower industry in the UK but pretty much lower compared to our European counterparts who spends £60-£100 on ornamental plants. “Around 60% of the £2.2 billion spent represents people buying flowers and plants for themselves.” British people has dramatically changed its buying habits according to the data presented by London based Flowers and Plants Association. This trend is similar to the United States. The Society of American Florists estimated that the flower industry earned around $19 billion in 2001. Surely, British and American people are putting a lot of value to the beauty given by flowers to our otherwise drab homes and offices.
